Travel Consultants

Job Summary: To assist clients with leisure travel arrangements to ensure each client has the most enjoyable experience and receives the best value possible.

Essential Functions:

  • Sell domestic and international cruise and tour arrangements including FITs and groups.
  • Provide air, car, hotel, ground transportation and rail services while utilizing our alliance and preferred vendors.
  • Customize itinerary according to the client's request.
  • Provide professional assistance for incoming customer telephone calls and those visiting the office.
  • Conduct outbound calls as needed (collections, date consolidation, requested call-backs.)
  • Update and maintain reservation information in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain files including documentation of monies received and disbursed.
  • Process payments and invoices.
Qualifications:

  • A passion and enthusiasm for travel.
  • The ability to ask for and close a sale.
  • Must accept responsibility to meet and maintain required performance standards.
  • Minimum two years of successful sales history.
  • Good writing, spelling and interpersonal skills.
  • Must enjoy working with people and be able to maintain a tactful and professional demeanor with customers in difficult situations.
  • Successful completion of an approved travel school or 2 to 3 years recent hands-on experience in a travel office or call center preferred, including knowledge of:
    1. travel logistics, scheduling, fare rules and routing
    2. international travel requirements such as visa, passports, monetary restrictions and immigration and inoculation regulations
    3. automated and manual ticketing, exchanges, MCOs, change and cancellation penalties
    4. operation of airline and centralized reservation systems
  • Must be organized and accurate in compiling information from various sources as tools to plan their clients’ travel itineraries.
  • Computer literate, including Word and Excel.
  • Assume responsibilities for other projects as assigned.
